SC 430 Instrumentation Illumination
Does anyone know how to keep the instrumention (speedometer, etc.) lit all the time. I also own a Infiniti QX4 and they are lit all the time. It seems very practical, especially when one is wearing sunglasses.

They are only lit when the outside lights come on, whereas in the QX4, they are always lit. There is a C-BEST setting. It is the "disp ex off sen" item. The function changes the amount of light the automatic light control sensor must detect to brighten the instrument panel lights. However, the tail lights must be on for this function to operate if set to LIGHT2.
Is there any other way?

Mine is lit
Maybe it's just me, but my panel is illuminated all the time, whether the exterior lights are on or not. This is consistent with other Lexus models I've ridden in. Did my dealer set it up differently?

I just talked with a tech at my dealer, and he informed me that, for some reason, when you change the C-BEST wireless door unlock function (so that when you press the transmitter once, both doors open), LEXUS decided that the lights remain off until the outside lights go on. I thought that having both doors open at one time was good.
I am not sure what unlocking a door has to do with lights for speedometers, etc. being on.
Why?
Beware of other C-BEST changes. What else is hidden?
