Would you buy parts from a dead mans car?
With my Cts-V my Sc is seeing very little use these days. I figure less than 5k a year. I kept it because it has been such a great car, I like a convertible, and it has been Lucky. I just came across a roll over salvage 08 SC430 with Blitz throttle controller, Blitz supercharger, Brembo Brakes, a decent body kit, and all headlights in good shape. I did notice blood stains on the carpet. The last owner RIP. I can pull all these parts for $1500. I know when you buy used parts they are probably from a wreck, but this feels kind of creepy.
I made it through a tour in the first Iraq war by wearing my watch on my left, "wrong" wrist, took three bar exams back to back without showering, and I am keeping a car I really don't need to pass on to my son some good luck in a couple years. Being the superstitious type, should I leave the dead guys car alone?

I'd go for it. If he has anything to say, let him tell you afterwards, lol and you can get rid of it then. Are you sure the last owner RIP'ed, from the rollover? Blood might be from a nose bleed, cut finger or something else not even related to the accident. Besides you're not taking the blood stained stuff. Like they say "One man's lose is another man's gain". It's not like you're robbing his grave or something like that. Let us know when you get the stuff installed. Also if you don't someone else will. Again go for it.

You are buying, not stealing the parts. It isn't "Midnight Auto". It's not like you were taking the parts off before calling 911. Or he had the parts in the coffin with him and you took them out or worse dug him up to get them. Congrates on passing all three bar exams. If I had to sit next to you I might have "passed on" all three exams too. lol Now go get them parts. Then you can tell us what a deal we missed out on. (Lucky Bastard) Pics when you get the body kit on. We won't think any less of you for doing this ghoulish thing. lol Honest!!!
By the way thanks for serving and glad you made it back. So many haven't.

I'd buy it too. I'd pull the entire Nav/stereo/amp and replace my 03 equipment with a updated 08 one. The wrecked car has a lot of "bones" that will keep Lucky in tip top shape for years to come. All of the parts you mentioned, but I'd include hood and trunk struts, package tray and motors too.

If I were as superstitious as you, I would be afraid that it would be bad luck not to buy these parts; if not showering could get one through a bar exam, then not buying these parts could spell disaster. Get them now before something dreadful happens.

Only you can answer that. If it's always going to be in the back of your head and bother you when you drive, I wouldn't do it. Personally, I'm not superstitious at all, so I would go for it.

Here's my take - you went to the trouble to research the death of the previous owner so it clearly has some significance for you. Some might not give it a second thought but you might never feel right about installing parts with 'bad juju' on your car. Am I off in the weeds?

I can't help but ask this question: do you know if he was a CL member? With all the mods, he could have been. Could give you insight (and perhaps some peace) on who he was.
