Grom Audio USB Adapter works in my 2005 Lexus SC430
#47
So I realize I am resurrecting a dead post, but can anyone tell me if the GROM Adapter will work with a broken CD player?
My CD player is broken (like most everyone else's) and gives an error code 4
Will the radio allow the adapter to send music/a signal through the head unit even with the error code?
In case you need a refresher about what I am talking about, here is the AUX in & USB/IPhone adapter

If the mechanics in your CD player is broken then its probably fine because Grom adapter simply adds another input to the radio. In fact, it gives you USB thumb drive for storage of songs which can make six CDs obsolete. Since they have 30 days money back guarantee you may want to just try it out. If you are placing an order before 12/24 make sure to use $20 off coupon in check out.

So I took your advise jzdulexus and bought the GROM USB3. I could not be more happy. In my 2005 it was an easy install.
My radio still shows my CD is broken (error 4) but if you hit the CD button again it plays the GROM.
I had a slight issue with the GROM not playing the next song automatically, but tech support had me go to an older firmware and that resolved the issue.
The sound is much better than the radio or the cassette. The price was cheaper than sending in my radio for repair and the results are much better. Overall, this was a great purchase.
I did not go with the Blue Tooth or Phone Upgrade, but I am happy as I am.

I think if you have gone as far as putting in the Grom and got it working you owe yourself a bluetooth upgrade. For another $50 you get smart phone integrated with your SC430 and have easy access to apps like Webradio which carries not only thousands of stations but has CD like sound quality.
