Default VSC Light Off Question

I have a new to me '07 sc430 and trying to figure things out. I've tried a search but not seeing the exact issue I'm having. When I turn off the VSC a yellow light on the dash comes on which I'm assuming is normal. After about 5 or ten seconds that light then goes out. When I hit the VSC off button again it does nothing until I come to a stop. Then the light will come back on when I push the button but goes off shortly after I strart driving again. It seems like it won't stay turned off if I'm interpreting this correctly...or is it normal and I'm the one that's off? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Feeling a little dumb now but after reading the manual it appears I was only turning off the VSC and not the TC too so now I see that I have to hold the button down for three seconds to turn both off and they will stay off until the ignition is turned off and back on again to reset. By design the VSC turns itself on when speed increases if only the VSC is turned off. Problem solved.
