If you go to this thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sc-...ast-night.html I posted a PDF in comment #5 on the trunk interior and how to get it apart. Yes its a pain because all the pieces are interlocked.

the other method is:
Open the trunk lid
on the taillamp housing you should see a round black plastic cover
pop it off carefully with a flathead screwdriver
remove the screw holding in the the light housing.
GENTLY, very gently, pull the unit straight back toward you.
too much prying in any direction other than straight back and you risk breaking clips.
the lamp is held in place with two guide posts with with clip retainers.
there is very lmited play in the wiring harness.
Go to Sylvania.com to find the correct replacement bulb.

Many many thanks guys!
after much fumbling around, i found out that the second method mentioned above ^^^ by VVT was the easiest route afterall. If some1 could explain to me how to upload pics on CL; i could post some i took, which in the future, would give SC430 owners with the same burnout taillight issue a visual to match the explanation given above. thanks for all the help guys.

This is exactly the info that I am looking for - and the pictures are a great help.
I am going to screw up my courage, go out to the garage, and try it.
It is now 3 hours later and I have replaced the burned out bulb ! Thanks to VVTiBob for the instructions and dag8882 for the pictures.
Thanks again,
