Default Trans Mount 2002 SC

When we took my wifes 2002 SC to the dealer for timing belt change, they told us the motor mounts and transmission mounts were bad. We didn't want to pay dealer labor, so I swapped them out myself.

But when I got to the trans mount, there was absolutely nothing wrong with it! The black paint was peeling on it, but there were no cracks, even when I stretched it out with a jack underneath. The rubber was soft and not separating from the mount at all. Is it standard to just change all the mounts at the same time?

I left it in place for now, but the car still is in the air, awaiting....

Thanks in advance for your advise.

Cheers,
John

John-I've had two SC430's and both cars have had BOTH the engine and trans mounts replaced at the same time. I do believe some dealers couple them together. My take is that if you are gifted enough to know how to do them and you already have her up on jack stands ready to go...why not if you can do it? Call it insurance...

Mine were replaced due to shaking while the car was in park (engine) and then shaking while the car was in drive at a light or at a stop in gear (trans).

Hope this helps.
