Question Finally replaced those 6x9's!..on to the sub

I just finished my install of the two front 6x9's. I used the DC Gold marine speakers, they sound great and can really hit when you turn the bass up! and an easy drop in from the old ML's. I got the speakers for $200 on eBay and used this site for the instructions:

Thanks GZone!

I want to replace the stock subwoofer with a 8" pioneer premier 500w 4ohm shallow mount sub. Not sure what amp ill power it with, any suggestions? I haven't worked with hooking up car audio amplifiers and want to tackle this diy , does anyone have a good link for a auto. amplifier install 101 or something? Also how to tap into the sub output from the stock amp.
Thanks in advanced!

I just repaired the passenger side several weeks ago and now the drivers side is talking back to me. I might repair it as well but am now considering just replacing both of them with what you guys bought and seem to be happy with. Would you mind sending me the link of the speakers so if I decide to purchase a brand new pair I'll know what I'm looking at/for? Thanks in advance.

Thanks Mark. As far as the amp goes I have no clue. Not in the market yet but I do remember seeing lots of info on this. I'll try to send you some links from the CL forum concerning this.

Hey Jace,
I'm in Gainesville but I do make trips to Orlando, I'll send you a PM, but to get what I'm looking for I need to look behind the interior to your stock amplifier and aftermarket sub which wires from that do I use on the after market amp? The signal wire or something? What color is it? Thanks in advanced,
Mark

Its pink (L+), purple(L-), & green(R+), blue(R-) and you hook it up to one of these Line Out Converter I am not sure which is the signal wire, zGones write up says its the grey, but my amp had a setting to turn on when it detects an audio signal, so I used that, less wires to run!
