Unhappy Dirt on back seats

I have a Egyptian Sand SC430 with Ecru interior. I have noticed that the back seats are getting dirty. The dirt looks like a black soot. I wonder if the exhaust soot is being drawn back onto the seats by a negative pressure. If you move the seat belts aside you see a definate line where the soot begins and ends. It will clean off with a leather cleaner and a little elbow grease. Anyone else run with the top down, white interior, and notice any dirt accumulation on the upper part of the back seat cushions?

Same here.....

I was not sure if it was the exhaust coming back in or just environmental pollution clinging to the leather. Either way, just a quick clean up with leather cleaner.

Silver /Ecru - Zaino cleans it up pretty well. Also make sure to check between each side of the rear seat and the side panel - dirt seems to accumulate in those areas too.

Obviously this is not just a problem on the ecru interior, we just can see it

I try to clean the area at least once per month with the Zaino leather cleaner, and condition the area with their "leather in a bottle." I get a clean interior and smells like new too!!! If you wait longer, the "elbow grease" factor increases substantially.

While on the topic, the rear shelf (where the black plastic cover comes down over the roof when retracted) gets filthy quick. I clean with damp cloth and use the Aerospace 303 (not sure that's the correct name and too lazy to run out to my shed to check the label right now) protectant to treat the plastic.

Do you use Aerospace 303 on the interior parts like the trim around the speakers on the doors as well as the dash?
I do and think its a great product but I always have to buff it with a soft slightly wet cloth to get the shine to go away a bit. I like the clean matte finish, not the shiny look...My interior is black

Default Ecru

I have the white, excuse me, ecru, interior and know that part of having that is routine cleaning. Like setvelaw, above, I use Zaino cleaner and conditioner every several months.

I find that the front seats, just from normal use, get more dirty than the rear, judging from the level of grey on the cleaning cloth. I doubt that soot or exhaust is being "drawn in" as the car was designed to keep the wind and air out of the passenger compartment. I keep the car in a garage, and often have the top down for weeks at a time, and do not see any accumulation of soot or dirt on the rear (or the front ) seats.

It's just regular dirt.
