Default Megan Coilovers & blowouts

I was wondering if any anybody has had any probs with Megan Coilvovers and blowouts? A lot of good things have been said about them on CL so I decided to go check them out at a local shop. I know one of the guys who works there and asked for a pricing on them. He said he would never sell them to me because they've had so many people having blowouts with them. I'm kind of confused because I'm pretty cool with this guy but CL has always been a good source of info. Anybody care to chime in on this?

+1 on what LSin75075 said. You can't convince me that a tire blowout is related to the coilover.

I think he means the shock blow as in loose their fluid.

i blew a bilstein HD shock on my Land Cruiser but it weighs considerably more than most cars that would be running megans. Plus i drive it over some pretty rough terrain from time to time.

probably slammed too low and idiot driving...never heard of coilovers causing blowouts. Sounds like user-error!

I'm sure he was talking about blown Megans.. I've read a number of reviews about this happening but I have also read good reviews about them as well.

Yes, I was talking about the Megans and not the tires. I agree that it can happen to any shock depending on the siuation. Maybe they were just trying to get me question the quality of Megans so I would pick up some Teins instead.
