If I go to Ace Hardware for the replacement clips, what am I asking for? Replacement clips for my car?

Go to the clip-fastener section, there are automotive clips. Get a couple of different sizes. Just match the head size of the current clips and you should be able to get the exact size of the replacements. Refer to the pictures I posted.

Or go online to places like this: http://www.clipsandfasteners.com/Toy...eners_s/13.htm and order the correct ones. You may have to order a few more than necessary, but I've found I'll break one or two doing other tasks so I have a stash on hand.

I finally got around to fixing my speaker today. The entire woofer was separated. I didn't break those clips near the tweeter. The trick is to push the center in til it clicks through, then you can just pull the clip out. Here's a pic of the clip pushed in and not flush. Thanks forthe pics earlier. Made it so much easier

OK. I'm halfway there...I got the door panel off without breaking any clips. I picked up a stereo installation kit in the clearance area of Walmart for $10 that included a speshul prybar for popping the clips. It worked! My woofer is the culprit. I expected the foam to be bad but it turned out that the cone was separated along one edge.

I'm trying the RTV sealant fix. Now if I can just get the panel back on!

Thanks to all who did this before me and posted info here!

What a dumb *** I was! The clip was a PUSH type. Hence I broke them. Now we know. Thanks.

Mandy, don't sweat it. If you never did the DIY then we wouldn't have a thread to even comment on...
