I'm having issues with navtool install. HELP!!!
#16
Well, I installed the Navtool in my 2006 rx400h over the weekend and it works but there is an issue with ghosting. Basically, even if I don't have anything connected to the Navtool, but I have it switched to video 1, I can see a lingering 'ghost' image of what was on the navigation screen before switching to Video 1 on the blank Navigation screen. This image just oscillates across the screen continuously. Has anyone else had issues with this? I contacted Navtool and they said this issue was unavoidable in certain Lexus models because "video passes along return video cable". So has anyone else had this issue and if so, is it correctable? Thanks!

Thanks Habious. Not sure if it's really just avehicle specific problem or a problem with my installation. Don't know if it matters but instead of bundling the 4 ground wires together, crimping them to a terminal, and then grounding them under a bolt, I chose to just strip the ends of the wire and screw the bolt over the exposed ends...would this make a difference?

Habious, as always your help is appreciated. I was really hoping it would've something I could fix but it looks as though there's nothing that can be done. Oh well, will just deal with it. By the way, what dud you use for an audio solution in addition to the Navtool?

I think there are one or two more choices now. But, I'd still recommend the Vais. They make excellent products.

Vais tech SLU is such an easy install, I highly recommend it- one aux port for me is for my ipod and the other is for my 2nd video source to the navtool...WD TV
The vais tech gives you and AUX option (yes you actually see AUX spelled out on your head unit) while using your factory steering remote and stereo.
