Raise the rear side windows?
#2
Not really. We're hoping they address this in future models or provide a software solution for current models. There have been some jury-rigg solutions proffered. One's below, but if you do a search for "rear windows" in the SC430 forum, you'll find others who have experimented with a solution.

Why
What would be the advantage of having those windows up?
At pretty high speeds, I can put the front windows up, which decreases the wind buffeting and noise considerably. I can't imagine that those two extra, very small, triangles of glass would have any effect whatsoever.
And if you put them up by themselves you would just be asking for them to be bent off and broken or otherwise pulled out of their tracks or brackets or whatever it is that is holding them in.
I can live without this feature.

tfisher,
I'm not so sure.
I haven't done any wind tunnel tests myself ,
but I would think that it would help channel the air further to the back of the car (rather than swirl it back into the cabin).

I doubt it
I think they are too small to have any significant effect, and my guess is that Lexus eliminated the ability to raise them because of the possible damage to them.
The MB SLK also will not allow the rear windows to be raised with the top down. I defer to the engineers at Lexus and Mercedes.
