Hey everyone! I'm at the beginning of a long journey called upgrading the sc430. I've decided to start with bigger wheels, and wanted to know your opinion.
I have a dilemma to go with 19' oem lexus ls460 or 20' EXE konvex rims.
Here are the specs:
19x8 OEM but are not staggarred with 245/35. Will need to add spacers.
20x9 and 20x10 with 235/30 (will be changed) and 275/30.
My major concern is how stiff it will be on 20s vs 19s? Here, where I live, roads are not perfect with lots of bumps and holes. I'm afraid the someday I can crack the wheel or something like this.

20's 100%.
If you get 19's there is a good chance you say 'i should of gotten 20's". Then you will sell your 19's take a hit and spend more money for 20's which you regret because you wish you had done it from the beginning. This is what happened to me.![Crying](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/Peace.gif)
You will really feel zero difference in ride IMO.

20s look much better than 19s and there's some performance advantage. Less sidewall gives you a bit less lean going through turns for a little better handling. 20" tires also cost less, so there's an advantage there. 20s are slightly more likely to be damaged with less sidewall, but you really have to hit them hard to damage them.
I did manage to bend one when I hit what was basically an open trench going through Arizona. A construction crew left about a 5" deep hole with a 90 degree edge in the highway and I hit it at about 85. It almost certainly would have bent a 19" wheel too. Fortunately, it was an easy repair. It cost about $100 to bend it back.
Another thing to consider is a full-face design vs. a spoke or web design. In my opinion, full-face wheels look classier, while spoked and webbed wheels look more aggressive. One advantage to a full-face wheel is you don't have to do anything about the brakes. Stock rotors are an eyesore and the calipers aren't pretty either. The best solution is a big brake kit, which is expensive. Or you can replace the rotors and calipers, which is less expensive, but still looks good. Or you can paint them, which is cheap and looks better but is not a huge upgrade.
You'll also want to keep offsets in mind. Something coming off an LS will have very conservative offsets, which won't look as good. If you do decide to go with an open-face design, a good place to look is the used wheel forum on g35driver.com. But you have to be careful, they tend to go overly aggressive sometimes, requiring fender mods. You should check the used wheel forum on here too, but there's not a lot to choose from with a good fitment. Other models have much less aggressive offsets.
A lot will also depend on your budget.

Though, I have to disagree on the better cornering point. I think 19's vs 20's do not make a difference in terms of handling, as tires' sidewall differ for only 5 units. (35 on 19' and 30 on 20')
