Resurrecting an old thread instead of creating a new topic...
i recently had some rattling from the front end...I finally figured out the noise would go away when I ever so slightly stepped on the brake pedal. Now I was able to focus on the brakes.

the noise didn’t sound thin, it sounded like the suspension was loose.

anyway, it turned out to be the brake pad clips like the ones shown in post one. I removed the bottom clips and bent the tensioner up so it applied more pressure on the pads. It is applying more pressure on the pads against the top clips.

just thought I would share if anyone else has this problem.

one more thing about brake pads...I installed Power Stop Z23 pads on my 2002 SC430. My 2007 SC430 has OEM pads. I can honestly tell you that these Z23 pads are far superior to the OEM pads. The stopping power feels totally different...the Z23s grab instantly and it really gives more confidence in the stopping ability...
if you need pads, consider the Z23s! And no I don’t work for them!
