Your car comes with run flats, no spare tire. Some owners have chosen to get rid of their run flats to improve the ride quality. They do one of the following:
1. Get a spare tire
2. Get a tire repair kit with compressor etc
3. Call Triple A or some other towing service.

If you follow the link in my signature line, I have a photo of the Lexus Spare Tire Kit.

Yes it's expensive and that's why some opted for tire repair kit instead of the spare. There are a whole slew of parts.... tire, cover, new floor carpet made to fit where the tire mounts, mounting system for the tire, rubber bumpers to stop noise and vibration.

If I remember correctly, I believe it was Mandyfig who worked with sewell on the repair kit idea.

Repair kit sells for about $80 that's as low as it can get. Nice ISF kit though. But did not get one so far.

I opt to be dilligent on checking my tires. The SC is a weekend warrior so I felt comfortable not having a spare. And the spare tire takes most of your precious cargo space.

But will get the repair kit someday soon (or an equivalent, such as tire repair and a 12V air compressor).

The ISF kit is so handsome and it fits nicely in one of our cubby corners.

Search is your friend! This and the cabin filter and the oil recommendation topics, plus thousands of other great topics are waiting for you. Go to search (while signed in) and then do advanced, type in the topic and then choose the SC forum.

Not to be a search snob, but you will find your answers will be more thoroughly answered and you will have a rich history of nearly ten years of owners' comments in the archives on many of these common questions. Try it...you'll like it!

I'm still running run flats but bought a spare off Ebay. I have it covered with a bicycle wheel cover for now. When the run flats wear out, they're "good riddance." maybe I will spring for the cover kit some day.

The trick on search is to use "Advanced Search" which allows you to narrow the scope.
