You know how you never notice your make/model of car until you buy it and then you seem to see them everywhere? Seems like yesterday when I would practically wreck trying to get close to a 430 in the wild!! Then after I got mine, I seem to see them more often. Just this week I was sitting at a light and there were 2 next to me!! Saw the 430 as an option in the x-box 360 Fortenza game and then I was flipping through the satellite channels the other night and saw Terminator 3 starting up. Watched the beginning and what do I see but a bone stock 430 clone to my car being put through it's paces in a car chase....It was nice to see it really driven hard although it was probably some TV magic.

yep i never saw 430s very often in Tampa, maybe one every few months in the upscale neighbor hoods but now i see them everywhere no matter what part of tampa in every color combo. I think you just pay more attention once you own one. It was the same with My IS and my RX.

However the RX is truely everywhere.

I can vouch for this phenomenah.

You seem to ID SC430's evey single day. In fact you are in the hunt for 1 all the time. Trying to figure out what rims they have, LOL!

Even the 2010 RX's are plentiful!

Could be all those originally owned and priced garage queens have become 2nd or 3rd owned and reasonably priced daily drivers. I know I would not have purchased my SC brand new, what about you?

^ That would be me. I do see them here and there in San Diego. They are all stock though. I wouldn't have bought the SC new either. Too expensive for my blood.

Never taken the hit on depreciation. There's quite a few who are willing to take it. Let them be happy. We will pick up behind them, LOL!

I bought mine brand new in early '02 and still have it (40K miles). I plan on keeping it until I either like some new car out there in my price range (which I don't) or start making money again and can buy a Lambo. Now that my '02 is worth so little, it doesn't really bother me at all that I paid close to $70K for it new; after 10 years, I feel I've gotten my money's worth.... but that's just my opinion.

Now my wife and I play "spot the sc430" game.
She really like the red one she spotted on the 405 the other day!

my wife hates seeing other SCs...we got it because she wanted something unique and the RX was everywhere. She wanted a Jag XF of a Bently Coupe but those are WAY out of our price range lol. But again to be unique. I convinced her that SC430s were not high volume and we never really saw them and boy did i eat those words...she sees minimum of 2 on her drive two work but she just tells her self its the same two people lol.

I would NOT have paid 65-75k for the car new simply because at the price range alot of cars are obtainable...maybe not new but lightly used. Not to talk down the SC but it does lack a few things (technology + handle) but at 30k your willing to make the compromise!
