Worried about the wear on the inside of my rear SC 430 tyres, I requested a toe-in check at Lexus of Mallorca.
They told me the toe-in and rear tyres were fine. Reassured, I drove home with my wife and son on the motorway at 120 km/h.
A few weeks later, the low-pressurte alarm alerted me, fortunately, to a total pressure loss.
I took the car to a local tyre shop who showed me the tyre: totally worn down to the metal belt in several areas.
This is professional due diligence and customer care at Lexus of Mallorca.
They also sold me a new Toyota battery for €200 after the two year old one, which was still under guarantee, left me standing on two occasions.
Lexus of Mallorca exchanged the 6 spark plugs in my RX 300 in a failed attempt or experiment to solve a bad starting stall problem, which then continued occuring. They charged me € 400 for 6 plugs and it would still not tick over on cold mornings. I consider they made no diagnosis, but were experimenting at my expense. They had no idea what they were doing. It was not necessary to sell me new plugs. For €20, I added a simple fuel injector jet cleaner to the petrol tank and it is now solved. A master should have known that. The low tick-over injectors were just a little bunged up.
Carlos, the Lexus master, also failed to fix an annoying loud noise behind the dashboard which occurred after he serviced my SC 430. He offered to experiment again and take out all the dash, for €2000, but could offer no guarantee. I solved it myself for free in 15 minutes after consulting with Lexus of Florida.
I am now getting new tyres and a laser toe-in. I will publish the laser reading results here. However, the tyre pics speak for themselves.
Carlos the Lexus master never even asked what the problem was. Nor did he bother to enquire how I solved it. A master should be interested in learning for the next time another client has the same problem.
I love my brand-new SC 430. But it is a shame about the after-sales service by Lexus of Mallorca

also just re-coned my door and rear woofer speakers so now they are like new. Hope to keep the car a while yet so am caring for it. Also added daylight driving LEDs from AEG, their LK 18 for only €60. Tyres aligned, engine cleaned, seervice done. What about changing the cam belts? I have 130 000 km on the clock. Any tips?

Great advice my friend, can't believe the level of non-service that he was provided, I would be livid and be pounding out documentation until I was made whole!
