Congrats and great display! (I also like your 3 car garage!)
Why thank you Harold! My Accord gets to sit outside!
The Blue SC is gonna relocate to the Condo Garage and will be driven much less...it will probably go to my son someday.
When did the current generation come out? I am thinking of buying one as a every day driver & retiring the great 2007 RX-350 fwd/ Nav, 158K miles and still the finest car I have ever driven & owned! I need more info about the 2 years old, I would like to buy 2 year car, under 40k, and need more reliability info. Thank You in advance!

Hi Bill, if you are referring to the SC430, Lexus stopped production in 2010.
the LC500 is sort of a replacement for the SC430 but it only comes in a hardtop. I saw a writeup where Lexus May make a convertible soon. https://www.lexus.com/models/LC
hi all, I've had my 02 SC430 for some time, and love it. It's black, and in great shape. I've replaced the pie plate wheels with aftermarket, and am consulting with a performance shop to replace the exhaust with a magnaflow system and possibly upgrade the radio to a more modern system.
Just purchased a 2002 SC430 in Pearl White / Saddle interior with 150K miles on the clock - 4 owners, clean Carfax and the car is absolutely amazing. Engine is trouble free and there isn't a cosmetic blemish on the car to speak of. I am very happy with the purchase. Bought it as a Lexus store trade-in through my father-in-law who is an used car dealer. One afternoon he called me and told me about this Lexus from the dealership and asked me if I wanted to go get it and when I saw the car it was a no-brainer. I am making a few repairs to get the car completely sorted... they are as follows until I identify others:
Replace all rotors and pads on all brakes
Replace fuel rail which was fussed with by a previous mechanic and it is now leaking fuel slightly
Replace both door checks - both are worn out and the door creaks when opened.
Buy new shifter lock plug - the OCD in me can't stand looking at it
Replace all speakers and install an iSimple unit for Bluetooth streaming through the radio. I am incredibly conflicted here... replacing the head unit is a total no-go because I don't want to mess with the originality of the car, replacing the amp would affect navigation etc (even though I will never use the navi on the car, I still like to know it's there in order and functioning), so I will replace all speakers (following the impedance of the amp - bought them all at Parts Express) and let's see how it sounds. The only thing I may invest on is on a powered subwoofer under the seat maybe... we will see the result of the install there.
Replace interior belt weatherstrip for both windows... they are getting caught when I roll the windows down, so both sides will get replaced.
Car is ready from the mechanic tomorrow. What a pleasure to drive. I feel I will probably replace all control arms / anything suspension related soon and I should be replacing the struts soon as well. I am holding off on the struts because I am considering buying a 19" OEM set of Lexus wheels and replace both the wheels and struts with coilovers. since I am still thinking about I can take my time to make the decision since the suspension is in good shape for the time being. In addition, I want to give the leather a really careful cleaning and treatment. There aren't any tears or signs of wear on the leather, so I must continue taking good care of it. Thank you for welcoming into the family - Moerbeck
Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your acquisition. Sounds like you are off to a good start on the vehicle and got it just in time for prime top down weather.
Hello Team SC,
I'm Socrates and yup it's my real name. I have a 2008 SC and her name is Sachiko. Sachiko is stock for now, with her sand interior and black exterior. I have plans for her, and I hope I can make the brand proud.
Thanks for all the information I've been learning from for the last 3 or 4 years that I've been lurking. Btw, this is my 2nd SC. I had a 2002, in 2002. What an amazing car to have enjoyed when there were non yet on the road. BOOM!
Hey air'body!
I've learned a lot here, I have a 2002 SC, bought it about 3 yrs ago, only had 75k miles, now just over 100k. Wish I could put pictures, but its red and black interior, I put a set of 5 spoke wheels from an is200, I believe, stock. Just bought a set of 19" wheels and tires to install soon.

What size wheels are the is200?
are they
18x8 front
18x8.5 rear

if so, how do you rotate them?
Yes they are, rotation supposely left to right, but right now I got them front to rear, rear to front just to see if I would feel anythig weird, so far nothing weird.
the 19's I'll be installing soon are a little more aggressive, 8.5 x 20 offset at front and 9.5 x 25 rears, so maybe no rotation.
what do you have?

Hi, I just bought a 2006 Lexus SC 430, Mercury Metallic with black interior, ML stereo, all original, I believe. I originally owned a SC430 in 2005 when I was the original owner of a Midnight Pine Pearl with Tan interior version and I loved it. Unfortunately I had to sell it in 2008 when my oldest got her driver's permit to get something practical (sigh). For years I talked about that car, and how much I missed it. Last week my husband looked at me and said, "why don't you see if you can find one for sale that has low miles?".... It didn't take me long to drive home with my 2006 version, with only 28,000 miles (and only one previous owner). I'm so excited to be "back in the club" and driving a SC 430 again!
