I have not seen this color personally but it looks good on the picture. Nice pick up and welcome to the SC Family. Enjoy your SC430.

Very nice Silver23. Pretty amazing find for a 2004. Only 18k miles. Post some pictures when you get the chance (if you haven't already on another thread).

Hello to all - I purchased a 2005 SC430 last week from its second owner, 88k miles. Pearl white with cream interior. Drives like a dream but a few little things starting to pop up; dome lights only want to come on 10% of the time the buttons are pushed, passenger side mirror wont tip up or down just left to right, climate control unit face shield is peeling off, can't get the headlights to turn off after key removed from ignition in auto mode. I'm sure the answers to all these issues are buried in this forum, just need to get the hang of an effective search. I'm just anxious for summer to return and I can enjoy having the top down!

Looks nice, Doc. I like the understated wheels.

Looks nice CapeMayDoc. Welcome to the forum and congrats on your acquisition.

Very quickly (since this isn't the thread to address issues): the map light switches (push buttons) need to be cleaned (there's a thread about how to take them apart and clean them by Retroplay) and the sideview mirror might just need to be lubed (spray WD40 in behind it followed by some good silicone lube, it might need some physical intervention to get them moving initially though) hopefully that will correct it and finally the forum has a sponsor Tanin Auto that carries a lens replacement, which I believe that you've seen already.

Congrats and welcome to the club. Headlights will not turn off after removing the key from the ignition. It will turn off in 30 seconds after you close the doors. This 30 seconds delay can be reduced to zero with TechStream.

Thanks Harold - I appreciate the heads-up on where to look for some of the minor issues I've encountered. I used a forum like this when I owned a 2003 Range Rover HSE but that was a never-ending repair/replace, cross your fingers it starts, followed by more calls to AAA for a tow truck LOL. I'll work on cleaning the dome light switches this weekend. Thanks again - CMDoc

Thank you - rims seem to be a hot topic with these rides - I'm glad the previous owner picked out some winners.

Default 2006 sc430

Just negotiated a deal on a 2006 SC430 with 16,983 one owner miles. Always garaged and Lexus serviced. I will bring it home in April after snow season stops, change out run flats for Michelin tires and some new rims. May add satellite radio and back up camera, new exhaust as i want a sporty deep exhaust tone so i am reading older posts that talk about the different types of exhausts, to get ideas and welcome any suggestions. Love this place and members are great thanks!

QD - I am super jealous, you scored a great find, such low miles! I love how clear the plastic is on your headlight covers, mine are faded and glazed over just a tad. Please let me know what sound system (Pioneer, Alpine) and back-up camera that you decide to go with as I need to upgrade mine as well. CapeMayDoc

Thanks for letting me know about the 30 sec headlight delay, my 2007 Tundra lets me change the length of time the lights stay on after the ignition key is removed. Sounds like there is an override program that you mentioned that can do this as an aftermarket feature. Do you have a link to that company?

Default Happy Camper

Greetings All,

Well... I did it! Purchased a 2006 Blk on Blk two days ago. I don't know if I've been happier about a car purchase. Thank you for all the info collected here if the forum and to those who gave me some great feedback as I was considering the purchase. I've owned a slew of cars in my life, some real heaps and some really beautiful ones, I feel like I'm in on a secret with this SC430! I've been driving it around for a couple of days and... Wow! I feel like I'm driving around in a glass of rare vintage cabernet. I'm starting to see what the passion is all about. I'm turning in a leased Lincoln with every bell and whistle half of which I never used, that cost 5 times as much and I feel like I'm stepping up. Loving this automobile!
Happy Thanksgiving All!
