I just had to replace my ABS module (aka Skid Control module) at 108,000 miles. I bought a used one on eBay for $150 with a 90 day warranty. That's the way to go given the cost and short warranty of a new one.

Default Hi from the UK!

I am picking up a 2005 facelift SC430 this week to go with my RX400h and I'm very much looking forward to it!

It's Palladio Silver with black interior and Mark Levinson. It's done 77,000 miles and has amazing service history including the timing belt and water pump in 2017. It is in great condition, the alternator is starting to look a little weak but other than that it's in great condition. It's got a couple of extra badges and the exhaust back box has been messed with a bit to make it slightly louder with new tips added. It also has coilovers which I'm not entirely sold on but we will see.

Oh, and I'm in the UK! And I want to add Bluetooth for music streaming and if anyone knows where the external CD port is on the radio of the facelift I'd be grateful! As it doesn't seem to be in the same place on the pre-facelift and I'll need a splitter cable.

Welcome to the forum DaveyUK and congratulations on your soon to be acquisition. Sounds like you got a good one with only 77k miles and a good service history. Looks pretty sharp also. I'll have to refer to some of our UK members with regards to the radio/headunit connector configuration. Obviously, it may require a different splitter cable than the one we us here in North America.

Default Daughters first car!

Hi club Lexus SC430 owners - I purchased a 2006 SC430 for my daughters first car last weekend

1. Matador red mica
2. Saddle
3. Mark Levinson
4. Unsure - are there option codes to look up? The car did not come with the original window sticker
5. All stock
6. Great father / daughter experience - love the car (and I’m a corvette guy!) very happy with all the safety features and reliability - main reason for going with this car!

Welcome to the forum and beautiful color combo. I like red. Maybe one day I'll buy another one with red color.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your acquisition. The car looks nice. How many miles did it have?

Welcome aboard...looks like you scored a good one for your daughter! She must be very responsible and well behaved to deserve a SC 430. I have the same color combo on my 2008. I like the way the red exterior tones down the tail lights, and generally puts the SC in its best light.

I've always liked Corvettes and thought I may own one someday, but I can't accept the reliability issues with any GM product. Since I bought my SC five years ago, I've been telling everyone it's my Japanese Corvette!

Lucky Dad - she’s the best - straight A’s in HS, earned full ride scholarship - this was easy. Thanks for the info on the options - it does have the rear spoiler another thing I love about these cars - everything is pretty much included

Thank you - she is - and a very good driver - I found it tough to find a 2006-2010 at our price point and color - totally agree.

I have collected three corvettes - 1967 coupe 327/350 hp 4sp, 1969 convertible 427/390 hp auto, and a 1999 FRC LS1 6 speed - I haven’t had any issues with reliability - don’t drive the 67 & 69 as much since I bought the C5 - but have to say the C5 is awesome - power, control, unexpected crazy mpg - 25 around town & 34 highway! Negatives road noise, ok stereo -

I have had 3 corvettes, none like yours though. First was a budget vette 1975 4-speed convertible: always needed something and was slow. 1990 6-speed convertible: really rough to ride but handled like a slot car. Every time I took to to a dealer they broke more than they fixed. 2000 6-speed convertible: plenty of power, surprisingly nice touring car and got nearly 30 mpg on the highway. Drive train was bulletproof but nothing else was durable. When I sold it I got a 2005 Nissan 350z 6-speed convertible (hmm seems to be a theme to this), great city sports car and only had to replace durables, never needed anything but health issues forced me to move into a more comfortable convertible with an automatic. Won’t give it up now.

yiu may have to ‘borrow’ the sc for a long road trip, great touring car.

Cool New UK member

Hi all, two week ago... after searching for a couple of months, I bought a late 2005 SC430, black, with balck interior, 82k miles. Bought it in Birmingham.,UK. Great exterior, and interior (except for the missing driver side seatbelt retainer strap, (see interior pic)... Im going to have one made at a car upholsterer.
Vendor didnt know if its cambelt and waterpump had been changed, so its in Lexus now having those, and a full service done, c/w 8x spark plugs.
Reason for the full service?, it had been stored, off road from 2016-Sept 2020. Also, the auxillary belt was `chirping for the first few minutes after start up, and the HIDs were flickering and on/off...so those were renewed.
My other cars are, Lexus 450h, 2015, and a Mercedes 300sl, 1986.
Happy motoring
