New to Lexus
Hi,
I'm Tony and I recently purchased a 2005 SC430. It is silver with saddle interior. I absolutely love this car!!
I look forward to reading some comments and learning more about this beast of a car.
Watching the roof go up and down on this car never gets old.

In the market
Good morning all.
This message is prolly a bit premature as I don't own an SC430.... yet.
I'm in the market for a low mileage later version SC and currently live in the Northern Virginia area. I say currently as LOML and I are currently searching for the locale that will be our "final move" into retirement.
In May I sold my beloved 2008 Honda S2000. Jessica, as I called her, and I had been together since 2012, some 9 years. She was a great car and loved her (still do from afar). Here she is in the driveway, in all her glory.
In March, we sold our stand alone house in Reston and rented a three story townhouse in Fairfax City. The townhouse is fine, but has far less vehicle storage options than the house in Reston. Combine this with a case of arthritis settling into my hips, and a recent uptick in the value of clean low mileage S2000's (mine had 26,000 miles) led to the conclusion that it was time to part ways. It was a part time play toy in any event, as I have a '05 Pilot for daily driving routine. I did a quick display at a local Cars and Coffee, and met the eventual buyer of the car. A week or so later I sold her for $4k more than I paid for it. I can't complain. The only thing I had to do was replace the tires, other than normal maintenance.
Here she is in her new home:
As you can see the new owner is something of a gear head with two lifts in the garage. She's in good hands!
So, with that money settled into a cash management account at Fidelity, I've been on the lookout for the right car. I've got my eyes on a candidate, perhaps a bit farther away than I'd like, but the qualifications all fill the bill. Hopefully I'll get to go do an inspection soon.
The beauty is, I'm in no hurry. I've still got the storage issues to deal with, as that isn't going away until we retire and move sometime next year. But if this turns out not to be the car, then I'll find her.
Thanks to all who frequent this forum. You have already been a huge help in my search.
Stay tuned!

Looking for a SC430?
I am in Georgia and had no luck finding what I wanted around Atlanta. Shopped online and found mine in Phoenix, Az. at http://www.shoponlineautos.com/
Seemed to be great people and had many good reviews. Ask for Ken Welsh. They buy cars as well. Good luck!

Not sure where to get this question answered
Harold...Love the SC430, but it is a bit too quiet for my taste. (It is my wife's car). How can I make it sound at least a bit like a V8? Just a barely audible rumble at idle that would become more pronounced under acceleration? I'm in my 70's and don't want loud, just mellow. Thank you sir.
