2004 SC430 IPOD that works best with factory cdplayer
Hi. I want a IPOD integration kit that can use the Navigation screen to display song and tracks and to switch threw the songs while anotehr song is playing. Just like you can do in the maxima. What are my options how can I do this. I know theres a bunch of threads on here about it but I read somewhere that some of the kits dont work. And im getting all confused

I recommend getting a $5 cassette adapter instead of spending $500 on all of that, you'll be able to play music from your iPod through the speakers, sound quality isn't as good but a lot of people on here like it and use it...I'd only buy the NavTool and VaisTech if you plan to use them for other things

I would get the solution from grom audio instead of $5 cassette. Supports usb storage, ipod, and xm input. $144 plus 3 hours, at most, to get it done.

eww cassette adapter? thats crap quality and no video- do the vais tech SLU and nav tool. I would recommend first doing the SLU its a simple DIY and will give you two audio inputs from then you can add the video part if you want with navtool and that also gives you a back up camera.
It will bring you car up to date with technology.

I have the $5 cassette, and it works just fine - the depth of sound, and stereo separation is just great.
As long as I keep the iPhone volume at about 3/4, and control the volume with the car stereo - no distortion, and the bass will still rattle the car without blowing the door speakers. I also tried the FM band method, and it cost more and was 1/10th the quality - very tinny sound with no depth at all

i want to add one more thing, non of these options give you control of the ipod via the stereo other than the mode button (cycle from ipod to fm to cd etc) and volume. If you hit track up while your listening to your ipod on your SLU nothing happens. However you can use an apple ipod mount and use a remote control while using either a cassette adapter or a slu.
