I've ran Michelin Pilot Sports, Generals, Dunlop S9000, and Continentals, but the best tires I've ever had and would run again without hesitation is....

Dunlop Direzza DZ101

Why? Because it saved my wheels a couple times. These are drifting tires...and the sidewalls are stiff as hell. I was running 245/35/19 and 275/30/19....low profile tires....and I jumped a couple 6 inch curbs....thinking that I just damaged my wheel lips....when I got out of the car to take a look...there was NO damage to the wheel lips at all....I only saw some markings of the curb on the sidewalls.

To me...the Dunlop Direzza DZ101 is a winner!!

^ First time I've ever read about the Dunlop Direzza DZ101. For now I plan to go with the Hankook V12 but will keep your recommendation in mind for the future

I installed the Continental Extreme Contact DWS on my SC430 last week and am very pleased. They are quiet and have really improved the ride. $910 out the door of which $62 was NC sales tax. Thanks for all the input.

Default Tire Selection ?

I really hate to re-start this thread.

I'm looking to replace the tires on my 06 SC430.
It will primarily be a Spring, Summer, early-Fall car, living in CO rain is not a really big issue either, I know this is a touring car and plan on driving it as such (ie: no track days).

I'm looking for something quiet with a smooth ride.
I've been looking at the TireRack comments and don't really see a clear winner.

Let the comments begin

TIA!

Checked with BigO & Discount Tire here in CO and they both said the Contis were hard to get and both would have to order them.
One suggested the Yokohama YK580, any comments?
I've had good luck with the Yokos on mySUV in the past.

I love the Conti Extreme DWS so far (since summer). I got mine through Tire Rack - no problems with availability this summer.

I might be completely off, but has anyone thought about the new Michelin Pilot Super Sports? In Consumer Reports' UHP testing, they got a rating of 90, while the next closest was a tie with about 5 other tires, including the Continental and Hankook, at a rating of 82. It also says the Super Sports are about $10 less than my Pilot Sports I currently have.

Try Toyo Proxes C1-S. I installed a set of these on my 06 around 6000 km's ago. Super quiet and they stuck to the road like xxxx to a blanket. Have had Conti's and Michelins before but these Toyo's have blown me away.

Looks like they just don't want to bother. They are in stock at Tire Rack. That is where I got mine.

I had OEM Dunlaps that were hard riding and noisey. Replaced when wore out with Perilli (SP?) and love them. Quiet and smooth riding!
