Default Tires

I'm replacing the tires on my SC430. I'm leaning towards the Continental Extreme Contact DWS due to the high consumer ratings and price. Does anyone have an opinion on why or why not get these? I'm mostly concerned with a smooth ride and decent handling, although any tire will be much smoother than those run flats that came on it!

Get them, I have same tires on both my lexus. In addition to great ratings and price, they come with 50000 miles thread wear warranty (not estimate) from manufacturer.

Check out the Hankook Ventus V12 K110s!

$60 rebate on them too until the end of June! I'm buying a set of these myself!

Just a suggestion, compare the UTQG ratings on those two. The Continental DWS cost a little more than Hankook, but they will last 2x longer. I've had these tires for 12k miles, and they still have plenty of thread. I'm expecting to get 40-50k miles out of them.

Default tires

Thanks everyone for your input. I'll post my thoughts after having the Continentals installed!

That's a very good choice, I will too go for that or a set of Michelin Sport A/S

Great UTQG rating, but I sware there was a thread just out about how BAD the Continental tires actually were with defects? Could be wrong...I'll search!

Hmmm...can't find the thread...guess it could be my imagination. Great rating, but for the price and the amount and type of driving I actually do...I still may go with the Hankooks.

How much for the Conti out the door with hazard insurance and lifetime balancing?

Also we're comparing Apple to Oranges here. The Hankook is a summer performance tire and the Continental is an all season tire. To compare Apples to Apples you have to compare the below:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/CompareTires.jsp

For the HUGE price differance I'd go with the Hankook again. Just my 2 cents.

I'm used to performance tire treadwear being on the low side and I'm okay with that. I'm also okay with paying "a lot" less for a decent tire on a car I'm not tracking.

I have had the Contis for about a year now and it is a great tire. I doubt you would be disappointed.
