Jack Stack Good! Seat heaters Good! My personal favorite is a mom-and-pop BBQ restaurant that nobody knows about unless you live in the area: Porky's BBQ. It's only open three days a week and is out in the country without any other business nearby for miles. Best ribs and brisket I've ever had - period. And a half-slab is only $10. No BBQ sauce needed. It's a great country drive to get there that's full of curves and hills.
And, actually, I think that the cold weather makes it harder to get the flat spots out of the tires so the bump-itte-bumps last a little longer until the tires warm up, get round, and everything smoothes out.

This may be my last update on my shaking front end. I fiddled around with my toe in and could control my shakes but my front tires took the brunt of the added toe in. My front tires were worn out so I got some new Michelins all around, had them road force balanced and a fresh alignment. Problem gone. I've been running her from 55 to 80 without any hint of a problem. A huge difference! My baby now drives like a Lexus, finally. With my previous Bridgestones I had at least three road force balances and several alignments all to no avail. Each printout said that all was within spec. I changed tie rods, bushings, control arms and more without any improvement whatsoever. It was tires.

Which Bridgestones did you remove?

My new tires are 245/40ZR-18 Michelin Pilot Super Sport XL. I'll update my response tomorrow as I need to look at the old tires to get the exact models. I'll update my post tomorrow.

My old tires were Bridgestone Potenza 245/40 R18 Pole Position RE960AS 93W's. I talked to the tire guy and he said that he doesn't like directional tires and doesn't recommend them. The Potenza Pole Position tire are directional the MIchelin's are not. I don't know how much weight to give that but for now I won't be putting on anything but symmetrical tires. If the quality of my ride begins to change over my course of ownership I'll be resurrecting this thread to keep it updated.

So far so good. I'll be putting on Blizzak snow tires on all four corners soon and will run them until April. This should be interesting. They have taller sidewalls, smaller wheels and narrower tread width.
