Default IS-F engine in a SC 430

I was suprised to see the the IS-F has 415hp. The SC only has 300hp. Has anybody ever tried to put an IS-F engine in an SC. Surely somebody knows someone who has tried.

Probably hasn't been tried yet since the ISF is still new, so there aren't many engines available.

I found an F engine for sale local and considered it. My mechanic is Mercedes trained and did some research. The engine management system is unhackable, and would not adapt. Too much tech needed. He thought you could get it to work with the electronics in a GS or LS but the tranny hook up would be a bear. It was cheaper and more practical to buy a CTS-V. I have had a stoplight to stoplight race with an F, and he did not do well.

Kaiser, that's kind of surprising that the IS-F didn't do well. I just assumed they were faster than our SC

He was referring to his CTS-V, not his SC430

The sc430's 4.3 V8 are so reliable/smooth but lack the performance/response. Did Japanese Super GT sc430 base on the same engine?

That can be changed.

Performance software, a differential upgrade, a few other upgrades. The car can be a beast.
