Default This weeks mods

Hi Guys

Thanks to advice from LiquidSC I have fitted clear lenses to my rear fog lights (only required in the UK) in place of the horrible red ones and smoked them. Got the LED's shipped from over there, opinions please.
I made the lenses from a polycarbonate light fitting and it works quite well.
Also sprayed the front corner lights body colour (thanks to TALWANG for showing me how to get to them). They are not required in the UK.
The rears will have to be masked and sprayed, or its bumper off.
Eventually received my Injen and fitted that too. Love it.

Taking the SC down to Le Mans this week for the 24 Hours. Hopefully if the weather is good might get some photos.

Best regards
Steve

Let me get this straight: In UK, rear fog lights are required (in red). You have replaced the lens with clear ones and got red bulbs. Did you fabricate the clear lens? As in used the housing and cut off the red and glued in clear?

Hi Mandy
In the UK we have to have at least one rear fog light that is red when illuminated. I have probably only ever used a rear fog light on all my cars once in about ten years, but the law is the law, although it's an ***.
I removed the original lens and fabricated replacement flat ones out of a polycarbonate fluorescent light cover. They are just flat. The originals are shaped to be level with the bumper, but mine are now set in. I sprayed them with a light smoke tint because they looked to 'white' compared with the reversing lights. Got the largest, brightest LED's I could find from your side of the pond, but they are still not as bright as the originals. When it comes to our annual MOT I can put the old ones back if it fails, but I don't think the law says how bright they have to be .

Thanks for your comments about the engine cover, just a half round file and a lot of patience.

Best regards
Steve

Hi Blast Off

Good to hear from you.
Yes, I am well pleased with the Injen, easy mod.

Close up of the front corner lights, in case you fancy doing it to yours.

Best regards

Steve

Thanks Liquid, it was your suggestion that inspired me to do it and I think it worked out okay.

Steve the cars looks great! The fogs look real nice with the back-up lights. The front side markers look real nice also. Hope you're liking the injen, and the great sound that it makes. Are you running in LeMan? I'll be looking for you on the Speed channel. lol Are you taking the SC? Taking the Chunnel? Hope the weather is just great for you.

Hi Ed

Not spoke for a while,sorry.
Thanks for the nice comments. The Injen is great.
No just viewing, not racing unfortunately.
The reason I go is to take the SC, do about 1,000 miles over the weekend driving through some fabulous countryside on quiet roads(compared to London anyway). Only problem is driving on your side of the road!!!!
About 65,000 Brits go every year.
Drove all the way back from Le Mans to Calais with the top down last year, but the weather forecast is not so good this year. Have to wait and see.
Yep, going on Euro Tunnel on Thursday, England to France in 40 minutes amazing. I took the SC last year for the first time, before I had done any mods and it was liked a lot. This year with the mods I have done I expect some nice comments from the petrol heads.
Hope to get a few nice photo's while I am there.

Speak soon.

Best regards
Steve

Steve hope the weather gets better. These weather guys don't get it right all the time.
Looking foward for the pictures. You have to take a train in the tunnel correct? Now that you are lowered, will that be a problem? I know the auto train from Washington DC to Florida there are some ride height restrictions. Just sayin'. Hope it fits. Good night.

Take Care

Ed
