Default Yet another newbie :) was it a good price?

Hi guys, I've been lurking for a couple of months, but finally bought my first Lexus. Yay!! The SC 430 is a work of art IMHO. Anyways, after looking at several, I chose a 2002 w/ 97K miles for $16,200. The owner did absolutely every maintenance recommendation, and had records. It had less than 1k miles on new RFTs. I asked if the 90k had been done; he didn't know so he called his mechanic, who said it had not. So he made an appt for the next day to do the timing belt/water pump. Sounded like a good buy to me.

nice find, especial he did the $1,300 90K service for you. Did he done all the service in the dealer or local mechanic?? Make sure he didn't just ask his mechanic friend to write you receipt and not done anything. otherwise, congrat!!

I beleive he said the 90K service was not done....
Still, I think it's a good deal.

It's got no mods (yet) and is silver/black (probably the most common combo?) I found one small ding, but I haven't waxed it yet. (I've found the first waxing is where I say 'dang i missed that!' ) Interior is in great shape as it the paint/body. Runs like a top. The mechanic was a local guy, not dealer. But I don't think he was a friend because he overcharged him a couple of times according to the service records I've got lol. My plan is to put a couple hundred thousand miles on it

congrats! hopefully hes a good local mechanic. i know A LOT of techs just suck up the brake fluid reservoir and top it off for your "brake fluid flush". doing half *** maint. and overcharging haha.

anyways.. pictures or we don't believe it!
