Default raising the wiper arm??

Is there any way to raise the wiper arms past the few inches that I can to change blades? I have done it a number of times, but it is not as easy as other cars I have had in the past. Including 2 Lexus models.

You could either operate the wipers and turn off the ignition when the wipers are vertical or open the hood.

Best regards

Run the wipers mid-stream then turn off. Your best bet. Steve is right on.

How do you adjust location of wiper rest?

A Lexus mechanic showed me a technique on how to remove wiper arm. I have to try it first and will let you know, in case you need to re-align your wiper rest position.

Not what I am talking about. The arm only comes off the windshield a few inches and there is a stop built in. Other arms can be pulled up almost to a right angle.

Thats the design of the wipers, the only other way as far as I know is to remove the wiper arm altogether and then replace the blade.

No problem, I was just curious if I was missing something.

I removed both wiper arms recently and changed the blades. It also gave me an opportunity to adjust the final wiper(s) resting position.

Running the wipers and then turning them off in mid-stream is a very good idea. Now that they are resting in better positions, I will change the blades that way next time.
