because they are affordable and look better than the stock ones. most people got them under $1000 brand new.
If they cost $2000 at least, I doubt how many people will buy them.

I'm sure the cost does play a big role too! For me I personally liked the idea of keeping OEM wheels on the car, but if I had found a wheel that I thought just really was worth the extra 1 to 2 grand I certainly would have paid it.
