Default 2007 vs 2004

I have an opportunity to pick up a 2007 Dark Blue with Tan with 32K on it. They are asking $33,000.-- for it. I have a 2004 WGC with Black with 38K on it, that is fantastic. I would like to keep them both but I can't... Overall which is a better year? Any suggestions?

2006+ has many "improvements", but color alone I would keep your WGC. You also know the exact condition of yours, whereas you're unsure of what may be wrong with the 2007. I vote to stick with what you have.

Of course the 07 is better, Beside the exterior, the 07 have better suspension and the 6-speed transmission was much smoother then the 5-speed, not to mention it added Triptronic +/- ..........the only concern is $$ when trading in your 2004

There is nothing wrong with the 2007. I have the complete history on the car.

Thank you for your comments.
If I buy the 2007 I will not be trading the 2004 in for it. I will sell the 2004 to a private party.

What do you think the 2004 is worth?
It has 38,000 miles on it. The interior is immaculate. It does not have any dings or scratches on it. It is kept in an A/C warehouse.... My daughter named the car "Precious" because I take very good care of it....

Do not know what it is worth. I have a WGC also, but I am sure yours is sweeter. Post a pic.

I don't really see the point of getting the 2007 over your 2004

Couple nice improvements in the 2007 mentioned earlier, plus all ALL the materials are 3 years younger (for what that's worth)

02-05 had more HP and a stiffer suspension, some people prefer the 5spd transmission i personally got a 04 with 8k and did the rear led lights upgrade and to be honest its the same to me i know the front end is a little different but i cant really tell.

They have the same horsepower (it's the same engine). What changed was the formula Lexus uses to estimate horsepower.

That is correct. The transmission is the only real change there in the drive train. The '02-'05 had the sort of automatic manual where you can control which gear it is in. The '06-'10 have the transmission with the + & - controls for the transmission. It depends on your preference.

There are upgrades in the stereo after '05 (bluetooth and others) that are documented in several threads on this forum (and I believe in a sticky that scdroptop created). There are also headlight/taillight changes.

So it boils down to what features you want. Overall, there really isn't that much difference.
