Default Yup...the brake squeak...

Man...I guess this is the summer for maintenance galore! Last night after a wonderful wash and interior detail I'm driving around with my better half and my three year old son when I slow for a stop light...SQUEEEEAAAAK!

So...now I wait for the new brakes to arrive. I purchased cross drilled/slotted rotors and ceramic pads all the way around. I'm not one for doing something twice.

So, I guess now when I reach 60,000 miles this summer I'll bring her in for her scheduled tranny flush/fill and all my maint for the next 6 years should be done, which means all money now goes 100% to mod, mod, and more mod!

The brake noise didn't start till quite a few hours after the cleaning. Although today they are not making the noise, so could be, but I don't know when the last time the brakes were done, so I guess this will just be peice of mind...LOL!

Come on PLATYM, you just wanted the cross drilled rotors...fess up man! If I had cash to spare I would get a Cusco strut bar for the SC, selling @ $240, not bad.

Side note: does the strut bar make a difference in handling for our cars? I think I remember reading different opinions on it. Either way, I love how it looks in the engine bay

Playtym, you'll love the look of the new rotors

take it in...i heard a squeak on my is250 and decided i would wait until after vacation....the cost me a pretty penny because since i drive city and its all stop and go my brakes get alot of use and i ended up causing a lip on the front rotors...the whole brake job on that car was like 730 after I had my local dealer match the Sewell pricing on pads and rotors...labor is insane though.

Me, like you. I like how the FSB looks...really do not care if it helps or not, if it does, super.

Seen one, not common. Actually on his sig. There's only one which fits the SC, forgot the name and it is $600. Been trolling for the Cusco and want to see 1 installed. None sold on fleabay.

But if you g Cusco and SC430, you will get plenty.

That would seem early to me? I have over 57000 miles on mine and don't know if the brakes have ever been changed as nearly all the miles have been between Florida and New York.

If the wear indicator starts squeeking, it will be a constant squeek and will not go away when you apply the brakes. If it comes and goes...it is not an indication of worn pads.

Best way is to inspect the pads. There's a lot into brakes. Shims, anti-squeek grease, etc.
