Antenna delete?
Has anyone performed this mod?
If so, what type of alternate antenna did you use?
I’ve seen mini antennas that you stick to the windshield… Has anyone used something similar?
Any thoughts welcomed.

That's why I was asking for alternatives...
Maybe somthing like this:

I can't believe Lexus put an electric antenna on a luxury coupe like the SC!!

I agree, most after market stubby antennas don't look that great.

I disagree about the stubby. I think any antenna, including the stubby, looks a lot better than stock. DeadEyed is the only person on here that I could find that has done a swap successfully using a mercedes antenna; although it wasn't plug and play, and required some minor body work.
I have an aftermarket antenna on mine, but the reception is about 7 out of 10 now.
You'll have to be a guinea pig on this one. Mine caused me a lot of headaches.

Hidden ones don't work very good, I've tried a couple and the reception was very poor.

I will check the SL (or SLK) option but if body work is required, I may very well delete it all together!
Nice winter project I guess....

It is unfortunate that Lexus did not dump the retractable antenna. The model minor change in 2006 should have been the right time to do it. Basterds! If they did then we would have had an option to upgrade to. Just like them tails!

i had mines disconnected and shaved off and was suppose to just get a replacement and plug it in from the inside. So far the radio still works ok without any antenna but im sure its not as good as with one on. Ill have to find a replacement one day when i get a chance. As for swapping antennas, personally I dont think any of them look good.
