then I really have issues. The guys at auto zone gave me something different. But anyways, the code read was misfire cylinder 7. According to the diagram above, I went to pull the spark plug in 8, and when I put the spark plug socket down in the chamber, oil literally splashed out. I I pulled the plug, soaked like expected. Cleaned out the chamber best I could, changed the plug. So I'm gonna go out and pull 7 according to the chart above and see if anything is in that one. But from what I found, I guess I can pretty much say that my rings went bad in at least one cylinder, right?

Hawkti, if you found oil down the spark plug tube, it’s because the “spark plug tube gasket” is leaking. Nothing to do with bad rings (good news).

These rubber gaskets tend to get a bit overcooked over time and loose elasticity. They’re cheap ($2 or $3 each) and easy to replace once you get to valve cover off. While you’re at it, replace valve cover gasket as well as they’re made of the same material and may eventually fail too.

I found the diagram above on the web, not in a Lexus service manual so it could be wrong but oil or water down the spark plug tubes will definitely lead to misfire.
