After driving my SC430 724 miles yesterday, I thought it would be interesting to see who owns the one day record. While the car is a pleasure to drive, my legs did not want to work when I got out.

Wow, 724 miles in a day! Got me beat. What did you do, drive across Texas?
I wouldn't think much would work after sitting for that long! How long did it take you?

I drove from mesquite to Odessa for my aunt's funeral and then back. On the way out I decided to check out the speed limiter. When I reached 120 my radar detector went off. Luckily I had time to slow down. I decided not to try again. On the way back I drove 80 most of the way and stopes for a sub so it took a little over 5 hours for the return trip. I averaged 24 mpg going out and 26.1 coming home according to the computer.

I drove Las Vegas to KC once. About 1,370 miles. Ran into snow in CO and had to drive an 80 mile stretch at 20 mph. But still managed to do it in under 24 hours. Drank a lot of Red Bull and coffee along the way.

Snow in an SC? I can't image how tough that must have been.

WOW! I have to admit, I've only put 4100 miles on the car since I got it last September! I think my longest was to Waco and home in the same day! I usually drive 21 miles every Monday to the Parking Sport North at DFW and home on the following Friday!

It was pretty stressful. The left side of the far left lane was melted enough that two tires had contact with wet pavement. Being in the mountains, I was scared I'd get stuck going uphill. The one good thing was is was about 3 AM when I ran into it, so there wasn't much traffic. I wish I'd thought to check the weather. But it was 95 degrees in Vegas when I left, so the thought of snow never crossed my mind.

On July 1 weekend, my wife and I decided to take a break, we drove from Halifax NS Canada to Boston Mass, but stayed a night in Bangor Maine on the way, the return trip was one stint however and was 1123 KM, took just 12 hours. That is about 700 miles.
The SC worked flawlessly, it was a blast.

My wife and I did 1100 miles to Florida and back with most on I95 and Rt4.
Was plenty comfortable (10 hours each way) and at 79 mph averaged 25mpg according to the computer in thecar.

I've done solo drives between Atlanta GA and northern NJ. Covered 850 miles in one day each time I do this. I only stop for gas and the bathroom so it's pretty efficient - takes about 11-13 hours depending on whether I hit traffic. The worst part of it is driving through VA. No radar detectors allowed and there are cops everywhere.
Done this trip in both the SC430 and our Acura RL. It's more fun in the SC because of the torque when you punch it but I get less fatigue in the RL because the car is roomier than our SC and we have regular tires on the RL whereas the SC's RFT's make the ride bumpier.
And yeah, my knees don't work too well when I get out of the car and my back hurts in the last 5-6 hours of each journey. It's worse in the SC than the RL.
SC gets 25-26 mpg which is great considering the V6 RL gets 24-25.
