Default SAFC II / AFC-Neo...Worth it?

For those that have the SAFC II or AFC-Neo on your SC: Did you feel a difference or have positive dyno results from it? Also, what else did you have installed on your car? People in the GS forum had some really good results, I was wondering if it's the same for our cars. Thanks!

Your engine is not turbo charged or supercharged, so I don't know how much you could gain assuming you have the knowledge and skills to tune it by yourself.

If 2gs guys have some good results on their stock 3UZ-FE engine, your sc should have the same result since both engines are also the same.
You'll at least have a nice looking digital meter display for what it is worth.

hmm, it was for a 98 GS400, so not 3UZ-FE. I've seen a few people here who have it on their SC and don't have a turbo. It would be dyno tuned, just wondering if its worth the money.

Pretty sure Pearlpower did some dyno runs on here with his safc and there was some gains. But he had a number of supporting mods as well, headers etc.

Was the next thing I was considering for mine, but kinda lost interest in modifying mine any more.

Thanks, yea I read up on that thread a few times. Another member that has one told me not to get it and use the money for other mods since it didn't make much of a difference.

Btw, nice to see that you're back, I havent seen any recent threads by you lately. Noob question, does the torque converter make a difference for daily driving? Or is it only noticeable for starts/off-the-line? It's difficult to understand exactly what it is doing.

I had my TC done at the same time as my headers, headers are without a doubt best mod you can do. So cant really say if the TC made that much difference.

Just the cost of having the TC installed I would say not. If you like launching the car though might be worth having.

Don't think PP did, but he did not have his car long either. Apparently mine where the generation after and have been fine.

Think the first and Second generation had the issue's but the later have proved to be sound...

Lets hope everyone that has added them to there cars are enjoying them and they are trouble free....

Headers and 3.76 gears did the most improvement for me. The TC was barely noticeable. I was thinking of getting a Valve body upgrade hopeing it would help with the shifting.
