mandyfig, let us know if this new idea ends up working out. Per my posts above (last year), my independent mechanic talked me out of splicing the wires due to potential long-term issues with load, power draw, and potential instabilities related to it. I am very happy to see that texsexlex has had no issues now, nearly two years later, and I think this new idea may be the best one yet.

Unfortunately I don't have the electrical engineering schooling to move this forward
