I have nothing to add because I have never been in a tunnel car wash with any vehicle I ever owned. All have been hand washed....by me. I am a little **** about it but not as bad as some I know who strip and wax on a weekly basis. I have 3 black vehicles and the 430 which is silver, I know how to avoid scratches. If you have no time just go to a self wash place or a hand wash establishment and take your chances. I won't even use my portable pressure washer on my vehicles due to the fact that the water pressure pushes the dirt before it lifts it and that causes scratches. I use the 2 bucket method with a dirt grates in the bottoms. Bottom line, although quick and easy, any automated car wash will destroy your paint. If you are willing after so many automatic washes to get the car professionally detailed and have those fine scratches buffed out you can keep it looking good. Otherwise when you roll in the sun everyone will know how you wash your car!!

The problem with those places is that they recycle water to save money. In fact, some city ordinances require car washes to recycle a certain percentage of water they use. Filtering can be good but is not perfect.

My problem with doing it by myself is that its really hard for me to find time to do it. Plus my paint needs a to be buffed and waxed so i will take it in for detailing this weekend.
