Exclamation Little Center Cap Screws - $12 EACH?

I have noticed that I need quite a few of the little center cap screws (the ones that hold the center cap in place). I called one lexus dealer and they quoted me $12 per screw, another quoted $6 per screw.

Does anyone know if there is an online source to get these cheaper? I am looking to buy about 8 of the little screws, but I don't see myself spending almost $100 on this minor detail.

Any information is very much appreciated, thank you!

I think they are M8x1.25. I stripped one and just replaced it with a normal stainless allen head screw. The head is slightly different but it works fine.

Try ebay. Other than that, you might be screwed.

I've been successful buying stainless nuts and bolts of all types from True Value hardware stores. My touring motorcycle has benefited - rather than paying the dealer prices. I'd go there first and pay probably a buck or two apiece. I know that they have SS allen-head metrics.

ps... just looked for you. these are 5 for $15 with free shipping, which is probably the best you're going to find if you want them to look the same.

Thanks to everyone who responded, I will investigate this further. I will probably start by checking Home Depot, and if not, then I will order from the link LiquidSC provided.

Default Better alternative to Lexus/OEM socket head screws for SC430 wheel covers

Better aftermarket Socket Head Screws for the Lexus SC430 Wheel Cover by FOREVERBOLT - also very affordable compared to the high priced Lexus OEM screw.

They must have a part number? Get the Part # go on megazip.net and order from Japan. This is where BGW70 and I both have ordered our spare tire kits from. Great folks to deal with. Is the part number 42627-24010 by chance?

Yes, 42627-24010 is the Lexus part number. The point though, with a 5 mm allen hex socket, the Lexus screw strips easily. In fact, of the original 40, I now have maybe 12 left - 28 stripped.

If I recall they are $9.08 each from Megazip plus shipping?
