Guys get in touch with:
Jerry Johnson
Warranty Manager
Midwest Toyota
Midwest Superstore
1100 east 30th
Hutchinson, Ks 67502
If you are within the OEM warranty extension I did this with my IS and extended to 8ys 75k miles with the Lexus Zero Deductible Platiumum extended warranty for around 1200. I delt with Jerry over the phone and via email and then Lexus corporate sent me the paper work thats automatically in the system when you go to your dealer. On my SC I had to go with a non Lexus extended for a little more but it paid itself in full because my nav went out (no GPS signal) and apparently Lexus charges 1800 for that.
Yes these cars are reliable as far as engines and transmissions and the very important things go but most electrical components are not made by Lexus so dont be surprised if you find the same companies making things for several car companies. Its things like that with the fact that Lexus labor costs an arm and a leg that makes the extended warranty a smart choice if you want to have peace of mind. Not to mention I get loaners from Lexus even when they are doing repair work

Can I still get a extended warrantee for my 2005 SC430 with 41,000 miles? If yes are they all thru 100k and 7 yrs? My car is already 7 yrs old?
Thanks and sorry for the newbie question...

To get an extended warranty (in CA, must be called breakdown insurance) typically, the car must be a new purchase or be currently under another warranty. To give you an example of that, my wife's Infiniti will go out of warranty next month and I've already priced a 6 yr zero deductible warranty at $1400 thru my credit union. At that point all 3 of my cars will be covered by the CU breakdown insurance. My wife's 08 infiniti will expire when it's 10 years old, my 05 Odyssey will expire when it's 11 years old, and the SC will expire at age 14. The key here is to buy either new or used with very low mileage. Total cost of these 3 warranties is $3500 and all three are zero deductible. I find warranties are a great deal if the used car has less than 25k miles on it. The higher the mileage, the less likely it is to get a warranty. Good luck.

I got my warranty through Lexus and I am the third owner. It is a Lexus warranty and not a third party warranty. There is a thread a two or three years back where I describe what is required. Going off of memory (not always a safe thing to do), it was something like the car needed to be no more than 7 (or 9?) years old and have 70kmi or less on it. It may just depend on the dealer.

I dont think thats possible you should review your paper work, I have bought lexus extended warranty from the dealer that was not infact Lexus, but really I didnt care because they did everything including the 3rd party and treated it the same as their own. To extend the real lexus warranty you have to be within the original warranty which is 48 months or 50k miles so maybe you were within those constraints. It is not dealer specific (although pricing will vary), it Lexus Corporate that regulates these Lexus warranties.

Nope, it is a Lexus warranty. I don't know if it is because my car originally came from the same dealership that I purchased the warranty from or not. The second owner also purchased it from them and it was a CPO at that time. (I purchased it from the 2nd owner though and not the dealership.)

oh well thats completely different and a major reason why you got it. There is an extended warranty (VSA) which is available for any car before the 48 months 50k mile mark that is what I have. If you bought a CPO you can also buy extended CPO warranty which is pretty close to the Platinum VSA (3 levels) except from what I hear with extended CPO you are supposed to ALWAYS get a loaner.

I purchased it from someone who had it as a CPO. The CPO did not transfer to me.

strange nothing on Lexus Financial indicates that would be possible:
http://www.lexusfinancial.com/consum...ifitComparison
To extend you either have to have a new car within 48 months 50k or buy a used car from a Lexus Dealer to qualify for the Extra Care program.
Maybe its something they no longer do? Either way Its sweet that you got it- I think they are worth it.

My 2008 SC430 factory warranty expires 11/8/12. Even though I'm the 3rd owner of this car, today i purchased an 8 year/100,000 mile Lexus extended warranty from a Jerry Johnson at Midwest Toyota via phone, 800-530-5789. His price was almost $1,000 less than the local Lexus dealer for exactly the same policy. Local dealers in Florida cannot discount extended warranties by law as the price is fixed to prevent overcharging.

Just don't be too concerned on having the Lexus warranty name on your contract, Lexus financial is the first underwriter to deny a Warranty claim without reason. Google their warranty with the word complaint.

I emailed Troy about my 2007 with 13K miles:
Unfortunately, I can only sell the Lexus warranty plans on vehicles while they're still within the original 4 yr / 50K factory warranty. I checked your VIN, just in case, and we're about a year and half too late. Your in-service date was in March 2007.
So that settles that, it's 4 years 50K miles, not 7 years or anything else...period.
