Default New owner 2002 sc 430 -Hello

I am retired and have just purchased my 02 SC. What got me thinking of buying one way I got my wife a 06 Highlander 3 years ago. Great vehicle, then installed an engine into a 95 Camry. With these two vehicles I saw quality I did not see in other vehicles. I really don't have to do anything to these. They run and run. My 02 SC is silver with black interior. Has 83k on it and looks like new. The nice thing about buying a luxury vehicle the owner take excellent care of them. Also you can't tell an old one from a new one. Just bought it so don't know much about it yet. Really hope to enjoy it. Will enjoy reading all the comments on these vehicles. Live in the Seattle area. Would like to know if there are any clubs for these in the Northwest. Ted

Congrates on you new purchase and welcome to the forum. You will find that he members here are very helpful and full of knowledge, that they are willing to share. Hope that you are enjoying your retirement. I retired May 08 and bought our SC in July of that year. Have been enjoying both ever since. From what I remember of the Seatle area (lived in Bremerton for about a year) you may not get a bunch of top down days. But they still look nice with the top up.
As far local stuff scroll down in the forum section and check out the local clubs. Might find something there.

Welcome

In June I also bought an '02' with 83K miles - a car that had been seen every 5K miles by a Lexus dealer. The original owner paid cash (no lien on original title) and as the 2nd owner I got a car that was babied, and at 1/4 of the new cost. These are destined to be classics, given their controversial exterior styling, the remarkable retractable hardtop, and their discontinued status with Lexus.

This is really a great site for someone who likes to repair and maintain on their own, as much as possible given some of the more exotic mechanisms (like the top)

The amount of info that is shared here and archived is amazing. And there are some really knowledgeable people here about the technical and mechanical aspects of these cars.

Welcome to the forum. Have had my 02 for 3 summers now - Seattle born and raised and now living on Fox Island - have enjoyed many top down days in the NW, but now getting time for the winter vehicle - remember to keep the battery charged and enjoy the forum.

Smile Thanks for the welcome for the newbee.

Drove it today and it really drives nice. My wife even says it is comfortable... Don't know how to post a picture of the vehicle but will look around. Wouldn't mind getting together with others around Seattle sometime to discuss the SC. You know we have to stick together...
