Default Getting the address screen icon to light up to put a address in..

Newbee to group and new owner. Lexus online has the nav manual to view. I don't have one yet -ordered one. Read the instructions and I can get my nav system to light up the address icon. It stays (not lit up). I push the dest button and the only icon that lights up is Home and next page. I have had the part with the country light up twice but don't know why it did. Tried to change the section of the country from east coast to the Northwest but it doesn't change and then goes unlit. Is there something or process I need to do to make it work. TEd from Seattle Will be getting my owners manual and nav manual this coming week

Default Nav system

Started working. Don't know why, for when I tried it I could not get the dest to light up. My son in law took the car for a spin and tried the nav and it worked fine. Worried for nothing. Don't think I will get the update for it. don't use it much. Lexus wants 169.00 for it. Maybe latter on... Thanks for readsll

I had this problem last night. Recently updated the nav and was trying it out while driving my wife to an appointment across town. Wife was trying to enter the address while I was driving. You can't enter a destination while the vehicle is moving, it will only let you access emergency info. I tried it again before heading home (entered an address while in park) and it worked fine. It is a safety feature.

Yes indeed. NAV is inoperable while in motion. Safety feature.

Hence they have the bypass modification. I do not have this mod nor need it.

pretty common for Nav systems to have limited functionality while vehicle is in motion. I can certainly understand the safety perspective but sometimes it is a PITA lol...
Interesting, what is this bypass modification you speak of?
