"Flushing" isn't usually recommended for vehicles with high miles. Incremental drain and fills are a safer alternative. I did a 4 qt "drain and fill" via the transmission cooler lines as recommended by BGW. Our procedures are detailed in this thread:

Thanks for the link Double-D! I like Chris Fix too. He does a good job explaining this topic, and his recommendations echo mine.

That said, I like the "hybrid" method (between flushing and drain/fill) that BGW developed, and I followed, which changed out 4 quarts of fluid. If I do that every 30-60K, my tranny should be good for the life of he vehicle.
