Default 2010 SC stereo/nav in an 02?

Is it even possible? If the head unit and nav are replaced from a 2010 to my 02-will it work? I would be gaining a better nav, phone, XM, and music box. I know we're talking big bucks, but is it even possible?

It would be more like GIGANTIC bucks... for it's more than just a headend to "radio". I suspect the wiring harnesses would also be different with the additional components you mention and the steering wheel control and remote mic and wire harness in the overhead light would need to be changed out too. While I can appreciate integration aspect of what you're thinking about, IMHO there are better head units...and with Beatsonics kit, it on my wish list for 2012.
With that said, If you were lucky enough to find a wrecked 2010 and strip it for those components and mirrors etc.... It cold make one heck of a project a car.

John you are nuts to get the 2010 stereo...it doesn't have a tape deck!!! lol

On a serious note if you could find a salvage one and get everything out of it including wiring harness, etc. that would be sweet. You'd have BT, iPod, USB, new nav, etc. No tape though!

I too thought about this. But youre better off with an aftermarket headunit and im gonna make a custom mount and rip out the navi and put a garmin in it since our old lexus navi is useless. Better and cheaper route

One of the CL vendors. Who has put together a kit to mate up with our existing harnesses. http://www.beatsonicusa.com/beat-sonic-mva-11.html,Allowing us to install 2011 era electronics ...depending on the model you choose.

Looking at their website, MVA-11 vs. MVA-11L... only difference is that MVA-11L will work with factory navigation? But if i don't care for my stock navigation, can i go with MVA-11?

It says audio will not work but isnt specific for audio for everything or just audio from the navi. I thought all SC had ML system? So the L model would be the way to go! Thanks for sharing vvtibob im gonna be buyin one!

Also looks like the kit connects directlyto the amp in the rear. Gonna have to be running wires from the trunk to the front aftermarket head unit

I believe you connect up behind our head unit and use the existing wire harness. Also it's my understanding the steering wheel audio control will not work using the beat sonic kit...but I'm not 100% on that info
