Default I wouldn't recommend this

I just finished replacing my head lights on an 06. I did it without removing any trim or bumper cover. I do have small hands. I have a digital repair manual and the process for just replacing the bulbs does not call for the removal of anything other than some engine trim and the air box. I thought I would give it a go. I will never do it again. My hands are all bruised and sore. It took me about 2 hours to just replace the HID low beams. Although I know things last longer than they did in years past, I do not think it is reasonable that it is so difficult to just replace something as simple as a headlight. I guess SC430s are for people that have money and not that want to do things for themselves. Oh well, lesson learned. Never again!

Not SC430's...

If you need to remove the headlights on any RX/IS/ES from 2005+ you NEED to remove the front bumper - its not coming out otherwise. Same with replacing the bulbs, you can't fit a toddler's hand in there to swap bulbs.

You don't have to remove the bumper, just unbolt/unscrew the top portion of the bumper so you can see the 3 bolts that hold each headlight. Remove the headlight then replace any bulb. I'm not a DIY person at all, so if I can do this, anyone can do it too. I changed oil myself once, and I said never again. So this is actually easier than changing oil.

Good to know. I know there have been directions on how to do that here in the forums and I should have followed them. I have the Lexus service manual and decided to try it the way it is described. Not a good idea.

Wow Not only did you spell it right you picked up on the inference of IOL= intraocular lens. No, I am not an ophthalmologist. I do sales and marketing for a number of companies that are in the cataract and refractive surgery markets. Mostly IOLs.
