Is there a reason to have a carbon fiber scuff plate other than that it's yet another piece of stuff that didn't come with the car?

Everybody seems to want to add stuff and I want to get rid of that butt-ugly rear spoiler. Am I alone in this?

I dont want to add anything. I like the current scuff plates. Lexus alluminating from below. Now if Lexus had an aliminum option like Porsche, I would have it. Not aftermarket though. I think people get carried away with the mods, makes the car cheesey. Thats why they sell 409709754057405745 accessories for Civics and etc.

You are wrong about the spoiler though....I would never remove it.

By the way, the SC430 spoiler actually does work. If you look in the booklet for the car it reduces the drag coeficient from .31 to .30

Better than nothing!

I think the stock scuff plates look great, actually my ecru interior would look horrible with a carbon fiber plate. I really like the spoiler, without it the rear end would look too round.

No Ed, you're not alone. I hat the spoiler but had no choice as the car came with all the options.

As far as the carbon fiber scuff plate, I went the other way and got carbon fiber shoes.

Well on a black interior, a CF accent would look better than aluminum IMO...I would much rather have CF in place of all the wood in my car and I would rather have CF scuff plates over the aluminum ones...

So, Phu ... what's wrong with a round rear-end?
