Another version Side Marker Installation
Thanks to SCYUL's original thread, here's my version. I may have found a way to access the signal light wires without taking anything apart as scyul did. Other than taking of the fender liner to get your wires routed.
It is as simple as unplugging the signal connector and wire-tapping from the top. You will have enough slack to do your tap.
Then it is as simple as cutting the sheet metal...which is the tricky part.
Just waiting on WIL44 (Steve) to re-post the location dimensions of the side marker (OEM in Japan and UK), thanks in advance Steve.
Here's my side markers wired and ready to go:

I have saved pictures from the SC 's pics where side markers are shown but Steve's pic showing the markers is dead on.

I will post the DIY. Not bad at all. The scary thing is the sheet metal cutting...but I have done quite a few so.

Pretty slick there Mandyfig. I don't think that I could ever get up the nerve to cut into the sheet metal like that. Take a picture farther back so it is in perspective with the whole car and also one with the marker light turned on.

For some of you who dare here are some DIY pics. PM me any questions and/or concerns. You can always take it to a shop to get it done.
Here are some reference location, thanks to Steve (WILL44):

The sheet metal cutting begins. Practice on the Dremel before you do the SC.

Paint the hole so no worries on rust. I will post a video with the markers in action.

Brilliant DIY Mandy, but I am so glad I have them already and don't have to cut the fender.
If yours are OEM, how do you change the bulb?
My handbook says the cover slides off, but there is no way that I can make it slide. I was thinking of changing to chrome bulbs.
Best regards

Slide it forward or backward, it should budge, do not worry about breaking something. It has some sort of a spring hinge. Then just pop it out, replace with chrome bulbs. I might do the same, in fact will do it.
Where to get the chromies?
