In addition when I looked at the lighter to check it out it was missing---a sure sign the owner or previous owner smoked. The advice on this forum is very appreciated and I carefully considered each comment. John, now that you have decided on the 04, maybe try and get it for 18k. It's worth a try. Then you get the best of both worlds. You can't lose anything. Go for it.

Question Oh no!!! New Advice Needed!!!

I thought I was going to pick up the 04 next week but now have an opportunity to buy a 07 with 40K on it and in pristine condition for 6000$ more than the 04. I now am leaning toward the 07 on the basis of Forum information. Is it worth the extra $. Thanks

I believe the normal price difference is $13K~$15K for 04 vs 07, I would definitely jump for the 2007

Also with this price, make sure you check everything....make sure its was not flooded or salvage.

Barring issues 07 is better than any older year, as long as it is apples to apples. I would love to get hold of a 2010!

Default Thanks for the good advice!! A final thought!

This forum always has such good advice. I thought the 07 car was going to be the one to buy. The Accu-Check information seemed good but when I checked the Lexus owners site after entering the vin I found the car had been shipped in 08 from Fla. To Upper New York and had suffered damage to the undercarriage and needed some bodywork and paintwork! I really do not think the present owner knew this and possibly everything was done according to specs; but this was enough for me to follow through on the 04! I will get it on next Monday and will post pics. after it is claybared and detailed. For a Senior who has had numerous exotic cars I am very excited and want to thank Forum members for the excellent advice. As I used to tell my students at the University of Colorado " information is king ", and this Forum personifies that phrase! Thanks again. John Bradley Jr.
