SC430/New Soarer as an import to Australia
Does anyone have any ideas about how long it will take before we here in Australia can start importing the new Soarer directly from Japan for the dirt cheap prices that the old model have been going for?
Maybe someone can remember the time when the old model (SC300/400) started becoming a regular cheap 'grey import'. I one day want to upgrade, but not for the $160k that Lexus want. I think it looks better with the Soarer badges anyway...

You can expect to start seeing them in about 3-5 years. The first major inspection is at 3 years, then every two years afterward. They typically start dumping cars on the other markets when its no longer cost effective to keep the cars due to the inspection costs and cost of repairs required by the inspection.
