Again as far as I am aware Lexus only offered Hybrid cars from early 2010 on.
Mine is in for major service, timing belt etc at the moment. I will ask my dealer again when I collect it in a couple of days.

As far as I am aware Mac, the 2009 updated model was never released here, my local Lexus dealer never offered it and I have never seen one, but maybe you know different.

The ones are ebay are oem but these guys don't know what they are selling. I ordered a set on ebay and they sent me the wrong mirrors that are off a 3rd gen GS and are much larger on the mounting base of the mirror. I would have already done the swap had they not sent me the wrong part. The mirror from the dealer will cost you a kidney. If I remember correctly the base/housing cost about 3-400 and then here's the funny part...the mirror/glass itself cost about the same. WOW.

Yes, you are dead right, Clarkson has a lot to answer for.
Just a couple of weeks ago he did a write up on the LFA in the Sunday Times and within the write up he said and I quote
' The SC 430 is one of the most disgusting pieces of automotive crap I've encountered. So why should I imagine for a moment that the LFA would be any different?'
He actually goes onto to give the LFA a thumbs up and ends up saying and I quote
'Lexus I take it all back. Except for the SC 430'
Best regards
Steve

But I do agreed, the SC430 in 100% stock form is very disgusting, the stock suspension is one of the worst I ever felt in any car, and I have driven hundreds of different cars, from Hyundai to Ferrari. We all agreed the stock wheels are horrible. The brakes are not sufficient either. The styling could be a bit more aggressive, although I know the design intent is not to be aggressive.
Other then those few areas, it is a wonderful car...........actually it is the only reliable and long lasting hardtop convertible with a V8 and RWD in the world, that is why I still have mine. In my head I keep wanting a faster, more aggressive, more fun and cooler car, but the only other cars that fulfill all of my requirements (hardtop convertible, V8, RWD, automatic tranny) are the E93 M3 and AMG SL55/63/65, both of them are not reliable or long lasting.
The Ferrari 458 Italia spider is perfect for my needs, but is "slightly" out of my price range right now

As for the SC430 I can name 1,000,000 that they could have done better but overall its such a fun and reliable car to drive. It was everything I wanted in a convertible minus the ugly wheels and such. I guess that's why I had to design my own SC430 lol
